Leadership Team Announced For The Fieldhouse

We are less than a year away from opening and are excited to announce the leadership team for the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse. This team has a proven track record of producing results, and we look forward to seeing the collective impact they will have on the military families and adaptive athletes who come through the doors of the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse.

Fieldhouse Director: Bryan Madden

Bryan will be leading the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse as the Director after launching and leading the Mission43 initiative from 2016-2022. During that time, Mission43 grew to over 5000 members and supported over 1,000 veterans and military spouses to find quality employment throughout the state of Idaho.

Bryan played lacrosse at West Point, where upon graduation he was selected to fly helicopters in the US Army’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR), known as the Nightstalkers. In addition to his leadership at the Fieldhouse, Bryan serves in the Idaho Air National Guard as a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) officer and is the squadron commander of the 124th Air Support Operations Squadron (ASOS). His proven record of successfully growing and launching meaningful offerings for Idahoans makes him a great leader to all programs and operations

Mission43: Dan Nelson

Dan is the Director of Mission43 and has shown his impressive leadership skills while serving as the Engagement Director for Mission43. Additionally, Dan developed and led M43’s Operation Resilient Path (ORP) program, which provides support to veterans and first responders suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Substance Use Disorder (SUD).

Dan was the captain of the UCLA football team prior to becoming an Infantry Officer in the 82nd Airborne, Special Forces Officer with 19th Special Forces Group, and police officer with the Idaho State Police. Dan also has experience with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) after being seriously wounded in Afghanistan in 2017. His previous experience and ability to lead effective teams makes him an excellent addition to the members and team at the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse.

Challenged Athletes Foundation- Idaho: Heather Lopez

Heather is the Director of Challenged Athletes Foundation – Idaho, after thirteen years as a Physical Therapist in the US Army as well as the private sector. Heather is an expert in helping individuals with physical limitations return to the activities they love.

As an Active-Duty Army Officer, Heather was the sole Physical Therapist for over 4,000 soldiers assigned to the 101st Airborne Division and was then selected to run the Tactical Human Optimization Rapid Rehabilitation and Reconditioning (THOR3) Program for 7th Special Forces Group. After her service, she joined the St. Luke’s Sports Medicine Clinic and became an active volunteer with the Challenged Athletes Foundation in Idaho as well as completing the Mission43 Leaders Fellowship. Her leadership in the clinic and in the community makes her an exciting new member of the Fieldhouse leadership team.

Summit Hyperbarics & Wellness: Steve Wyman

Dr. Steve Wyman will be the Medical Director of Summit Hyperbarics & Wellness, the brand new hyperbaric oxygen therapy center on the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse campus.

After an impressive career that began in 1989 with his graduation from the St. Louis University School of Medicine on a military education scholarship, he then served as a battalion surgeon in the 2nd Armored Division in the First Gulf War and continued his military service until 1998. For the past twenty-four years he has been a full-time emergency physician for Emergency Medicine of Idaho (EMI) and has been an elected member of the EMI board for seventeen years. Dr. Wyman’s military and medical leadership will be instrumental on the veterans, first responders, and adaptive athletes supported at Summit Hyperbarics & Wellness.
