Fieldhouse Insider: Fieldhouse Fitness

The Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse serves as the headquarters for Mission43 and Challenged Athletes Foundation Idaho. The ultimate goal of this facility is to provide members of these two organizations with a place where they can grow as individuals and as a community. Fieldhouse programming is all group-based and the functional fitness workouts are a way for members to gather and push each other to grow both physically and mentally.

Anna Woodring, The Director of Human Performance at the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse has quite an extensive background in the world of physical training. A Marine Corps Officer as well as a former strength & conditioning coach for the National Champion Georgia Bulldogs football team, Anna has an amazing ability to lead people in the gym.

Anna leads the Fieldhouse workouts, providing invaluable coaching and training to all participants.

She designs these workouts in progressive phases—strength, stamina, endurance, pool training, etc. These phases directly translate to popular Idaho activities such as hunting, hiking, and mountain biking.

Training both Mission43 and Challenged Athletes Foundation together creates an inclusive environment for people of different experience levels to come together and push each other to reach their goals.

A typical workout at the Fieldhouse:

WARM UP

Anna leads a dynamic warm-up that includes a series of drills and dynamic stretches. These warm-ups typically last about 10 minutes and MUST be completed with the group prior to participating in the workout.

THE WORKOUT

The workout varies based on the current progression phase, which changes throughout the year to complement popular activities Idahoans like to engage in. These functional fitness-style workouts are conducted in a group setting and can be scaled to accommodate the needs of different participants.

COOL DOWN

After the workout, Anna guides the class through a cool-down session. This typically includes a band series, stretching, and an optional dip in the cold tub.
